PeopleFinder was founded by industry veteran Wallindi Schirnig, who has worked both within HR departments for leading companies and also within an Human Resources Consultancy, focusing out-and-out on recruitment, so she combines insights and experience from “both sides of the fence”.

Meet Wallindi Schirnig

Wallindi is an experienced executive search consultant with over 20 successful years in various aspects of the Human Resources discipline.


Prior to establishing PeopleFinder, Wallindi was employed by Old Mutual, Pick n Pay, Ogilvy & Mather and Distell to handle, amongst other responsibilities, recruitment. So she knows what it is like to be “on the other side of the fence”.


PeopleFinder Career Placements was established under her leadership in 2009, to provide businesses with a focused placement service, in particular when it comes to difficult job specs.


Wallindi has a B.A. Honours degree from the University of Port Elizabeth, and is also a qualified Psychometrist.


She has been recruiting since 1990 and has undertaken thousands of interviews – she’s pretty much seen it all!

Our Geograhic footprint

PeopleFinder is based in Somerset West, and although most of our placements are in the Western Cape, we recruit nationally and internationally.

For example, we’ve also secured staff in Hong Kong and Nelspruit, amongst other far-flung towns – we sort out our client’s needs.

Spread of Jobs

More than 90% of the applicants we place are for permanent jobs, with a minority on temporary assignments. 


The bulk of our placements are for middle management / professional / skilled artisanal roles, such as financial managers, accountants, business analysts, marketing roles, support consultants, property roles, auditors, engineers and sourcing specialists amongst others.

  • Often these job specs come with a twist – while a “key accounts manager” sounds pretty ordinary, it takes a great deal of skill and persistence to find a mandarin-speaking wine expert to represent a leading SA company in China.

  • Same again when it came to finding a “potato propagation farmer”… 


We also handle relatively junior placements as well as senior/exec head-hunting: fundamentally, we try to provide a full solution to our clients, not just cherry-pick the assignments which suit us. 

Retail Experience

PeopleFinder’s principal, Wallindi Schirnig has spent some time “at the coalface” so to speak, while working in HR at Pick n Pay’s Ottery Hyper, and has worked as a service provider to the industry since 2005, helping Ackermans, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Spar and Woolworths amongst others, meet their recruitment needs.
